Man, I hope this isn’t true. After Bonds, McGwire, and all the others, I’d hope that a few of the top players would remain untainted by allegations. But really, I care much less than I would have 7 or 8 years ago… the post-’98 home run crush (which made ‘98 less impressive) and all the drug scandals, on top of the wild card/expansion/interleague play crap, have really made me less invested in baseball. So much of the sport’s attraction is its rich history, and when you can no longer make useful inter-era comparisons, it’s lost a lot.
